Why work with a consultant?

Artists notoriously work in isolation. We are incredibly diverse, yet (somehow) we all seem to struggle with the same problems. Working with a consultant helps identify blindspots, cut through the noise, drill down into exactly what you need (now), discover practical tools/strategies applicable to your exact needs (now), bring latent issues to light, adopt systems you will actually use, recognize your unique gifts & benefit from insights that have been accumulated across multiple disciplines. Beyond the practical value of working together- you will be recognized and taken seriously as an Artist. You will be held accountable to your talent, drive & ambition because they are not mere accidents.

A Note From Ryan 

As a classically trained oil painter with an academic background- it came as a shock to realize Art School failed me. Yes, I received a lot of great technical training and historic context, but I quickly discovered my complete lack of preparation for the real world. I had stacks of finished work that few people saw, and even less bought. My sense of utter failure gave rise to a whole host of excuses, stories & paralyzing fears that only served to keep me stuck. Most of my peers (with & without degrees) find themselves in the exact same situation, the only difference being who went into more debt figuring that out. Despite being a wildly diverse community- we all seem to be grappling with the same challenges. What started as a personal quest to get right with my own career, became a mission to share practical tools & strategies that support modern Artists. We do not exist in a vacuum & talent deserves to be valued.

I’ve been working with artists of all persuasions and experience levels for the past 5 years through DAC. The issues we face fall into three essential categories: mindset, business & marketing. Emerge is designed to address each area with simple, stress-free lessons, workbooks & optional consulting sessions if you want to work directly with me. You don’t have to go it alone, spend thousands of dollars or immerse yourself in fruitless research rabbit holes. Get what you need, get out and level up.

What to expect?

Time Commitment: 

• About 60-90 min per week for 6 weeks.
• Complete the lessons & workbooks at your own pace
• Choose the schedule for your one to one sessions

Cost:

• $475 ($100 discount available to all DAC members for a limited time)

Contents: 

• 2 video lessons (10-20 min each)
• 2 workbooks (takes 1-2 hours each to complete)
• 3 one to one consultations (2.5 hrs total)
• Custom homework to support your growth (optional)
• Written Summaries of each one to one consultation

Frequently asked questions

What if I don’t have enough time?

• We know life gets hectic. Each package is designed with flexibility & full time schedules in mind. You’ll have 6 weeks to complete 2 lessons & 3 one on one sessions. You get to schedule your sessions & complete the lessons/workbooks at your own pace. We want to work with Artists who take their careers as seriously as we do- and lost momentum is not going to do you any favors. Expect to set aside 60-90 min a week for the next 6 weeks. You’ll get out what you put in- just like anything else.

What if I can’t afford it?

• We offer a discount code ($100) to all DAC members, because we believe in making potent career tools as accessible as possible. One to one support allows you to bypass all the noise & get right down to the core issues holding you back. This level of dedicated support is not for everyone. We beat the drum of Artists raising prices, advocate for living wages & value creative energy. We practice what we preach. You need to conspire in your own success and put some skin in the game.

What if I’m scared? 

• Do it scared- that’s what these conversations are all about. Having one to one support will help hold you accountable & dismantle any resistance that crops up. Bring all of your fear, excuses & turn offs. We’ve heard it all & will transmute your shenanigans into the fuel that pushes you forward.

What if this doesn’t work for me?

All consulting sessions must be scheduled & completed within 6 weeks of your bundle purchase.
